EdUHK G20 Simulation Overview
Undergraduate students and graduate students of all programmes welcome.
Each country is comprised of 4 delegates and an advisor, who will be faculty or staff members of the university. These 4 individuals will work as a team to research all four sectors’ questions leading up to the simulation. The advisor will offer a degree of guidance throughout the preparation process.
On the day of the conference, each member of a delegation will find out the role they will be playing for the day:
Delegations
A maximum of 20 delegations will participate in the simulation, representing the following roles:
Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Republic of Korea, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Turkey, the United Kingdom, and the United States), and the European Union (EU).
Delegates will have two opportunities during the conference to meet as a country in order to trade information about sector rooms and to prepare a more cohesive country policy across sectors.
Debate Topics

Students will be discussing these topics in their respective sector rooms. Following two debate sessions, each sector will be expected produce a communique summarising the agreements reached that day.
Plenary (Joint Session)
While debate primarily takes place in separate sector rooms, all delegates will come together for a plenary at the end of the conference. During this time, communiques from each sector room will be presented and voted on by the Heads of State. At the end of the plenary, the communications team will also present key moments during the day as a review of all the delegates’ accomplishments.
The Goal
The goal of every delegation is to promote the interests of the country or mission of the organisation they represent accurately and effectively. Additionally, delegates should place emphasis on collaborating with their sector peers in order to produce a final communique to be presented at the plenary. As such, it is important to strike a balance between national values and compromise.
Awards
